I enjoyed the beginning drawing class so much. I was nervous about my skills but Kenny put me at ease. She did a great job.

It was a relaxed and engaging session, I have experience in drawing but haven't done it regularly in years so the casual atmosphere was appreciated to make the activity more approachable. Instructor was friendly and very informative on techniques for building confidence in drawing and offered appropriate feedback and comments throughout the class. It was a very personable class that I enjoyed at lot!

When I started this painting , I was talking to a friend of mine who said that my paintings were a mixture of real and surreal. I grew up an avid reader, and read every book they had on fantasy and Greek Gods and Goddesses.. I feel imagination keeps us young, and I?m still looking for the leprechauns in my forest&128513

The clothing items I used for this still life came from my closet. I was thinking about how life is more than what we wear and how it is more important that we are clothed in kindness, strength, and humility.

Oils on 56cm x 46cm canvas. Large for me!A larger canvas really does provide a wonderful opportunity to dive into the textures and subtleties of the lion cub's fur, and those expressive little details?like the way its eyes catch the light. Oils allows you to layer and blend, giving more depth and ability to play with the softness of the fur.

Title or Location: Vernal Equinox in the Straits of Mackinac
Winter?s grip on the Straits of Mackinac slowly melts away with each passing day of warm sunshine. The ice cover gradually retreats with the approaching spring and renewal of another shipping season on the Great Lakes. Round Island Lighthouse has been a sentinel and silent witness to this annual ritual for over a hundred years.
