REVIEWS
I enjoyed the beginning drawing class so much. I was nervous about my skills but Kenny put me at ease. She did a great job.

It was a relaxed and engaging session, I have experience in drawing but haven't done it regularly in years so the casual atmosphere was appreciated to make the activity more approachable. Instructor was friendly and very informative on techniques for building confidence in drawing and offered appropriate feedback and comments throughout the class. It was a very personable class that I enjoyed at lot!

This was a study from a model in a portrait painting class. It was a classical approach to oil painting. The approach is one I learned and never forgot because the teacher demanded we all write it down. And because of that, I saved it and it became part of how I create all my painted artworks. 16" X 20" Oil on Canvas www.bayouth.com

Going by Yacolt Falls is a part of my 100 mile bicycle loop around Clark County in the State of Washington. I love to pause my ride, sit, rest and watch the cascade for a few minutes before moving on. One day in 2024, I decided to paint the falls during autumn, when the leaves were turning. One peculiar thing I do is paint in public. I create art exclusively in coffee shops and hospital lobbies where I work. This allows people to watch how I draw. I frequently make art at Madrona Hill, Posies, T

I?m in a portrait class and was feeling restricted. So I tried to paint Jesus one morning for fun, freehand. This WIP is at the third layer right now. I may darken the skin tones, not sure yet.

I was researching Arizona Native Americans and found Geronimo very interesting. Quote: "He was a fierce leader of the Apache tribe who fought against Mexican and American invaders for decades. He was also a prisoner, a farmer, and a writer. He was Geronimo." I used several photos as inspiration and the painting is what I came up with.

I spent the summer of 2024 developing this art form. I am free-forming epoxy resin and fusing. This allows me to layer and make 3D sculptures and relief from a medium not typically suited for this purpose. At this time, I have not found anyone else who has done this with epoxy resin. It appears to be glass, but it's not.Artist Statement:Virginia Alden's artistry is a vibrant synthesis of nature and craftsmanship, where each piece is meticulously hand-formed or painted from epoxy resin.
